Who is "Kika"?

 

What is in a name by which any rose would smell as sweet. What is in a name?

Dear visitor to our blog I am Kika and what is in this name representes how we can grow and change as this was my nickname before I even had a name.

I am Canadian born and raised from a multicultural family but where the dominating cultures were the Portuguese and Canadian culture. I did a master's in English and French teaching for middle school and high school and my bachelor of arts in languages, literatures and cultures is from the university of Lisbon where I am still affiliated and culturally active with the University's choir.

As my grandfather use to say in somewhat of an eco of the words of Plato , which decorate the tiles of the university metro station, I am nor a Greek nor an Athenian yet a citizen of the world. In his own manner referencing Portuguese parishes my Brazilian born grandfather use to say that he was from the parish of st. Mary of the all the world. 

In this same way I too feel reflected a citizenship of the world through supporting the endeavours of my tutees and students as they do so through English and French.
